Registration Holds

Make sure you do not have any holds or items on the to-do list in your record which affect your ability to modify your schedule. You must clear your holds and to-do items before you can complete course registration.

Regarding the “No Drop Activity – Add Allowed” hold:

This hold will appear on your record as:

No Drop Activity – Add Allowed
(Effective Semester/Year)
Restrict Dropping of Courses

This hold:

  • is on every F/J Visa international student’s record,
  • does NOT affect ADDING courses,
  • does NOT affect the DROPPING of courses until AFTER the Drop/Add deadline,
  • does NOT affect graduation or receiving your degree, transcripts, or diploma.

After the Drop/Add deadline, this hold is a safeguard for international students to ensure that they maintain the proper number of credit hours (12 credit hours for undergraduate students and 9 credit hours for graduate students) so that they maintain their F-1 status.

For registration information, visit https://one.uf.edu/.

Tuition & Fees

Tuition & fees must be paid prior to or by the fee payment deadline. Enrollment may be canceled if tuition and fees are not paid in a timely manner. If you do not pay in full before the fee payment deadline, you will be accessed the late payment fee. No fee deferments are available. If you have an assistantship or a scholarship which provides a tuition waiver or temporary in-state designation, you are responsible for payment of the fees related to your registration. If you cannot pay the tuition and fees in full, you must make at least a nominal payment or your courses will be automatically cancelled by UF, which will compromise your visa status. Then, you must pay the balance of the amount owed before you can register for the next semester. J-1 Partner School Exchange Students do not pay tuition but are still required to pay any other non-tuition charges. To find out how to make any payments, click here.
